Who we are

Gita verse (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a contemplative reading and reflection app for the Bhagavad Gītā. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.

Information we collect

• Account info: when you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email, and a stable user identifier.
• Profile preferences: avatar name, outfit, reading language, bookmarks, and reading progress you create inside the app.
• Chat content: questions you send to “Ask Krishna” and the responses, used to generate replies and count your monthly prompt usage.
• Subscription status: we use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. We receive entitlement state, plan, and renewal status — never your full payment details.
• Diagnostic data: anonymous crash and performance logs to keep the app stable.

How we use your information

• Provide core features (reading, bookmarks, Krishna chat, paid theme).
• Sync your profile and progress across your devices.
• Process subscriptions and enforce monthly prompt limits.
• Improve reliability and quality of the app.
• Send important account or service notices.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not show third-party advertising in the app.
• We do not use your chat content for advertising or profiling.

Service providers

We share limited data with trusted providers strictly to operate the app:

• Apple & Google (sign-in)
• RevenueCat (subscription management)
• Supabase (secure data storage)
• AI inference providers (to generate Krishna’s replies)

These providers act on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.

Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us; we will erase your profile, bookmarks, and chat history within 30 days, except where law requires longer retention.

Your rights

• Access, correct, or export your data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for optional processing
• Opt out of any non-essential communications

Children

Gita verse is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be highlighted in the app before they take effect.
